We’re thrilled to unveil our limited Harris Tweed range, handwoven by island artisans — available now in limited runs.

Scots.Store Exclusive: New Harris Tweed Collection Launch

Today we are proud to launch a limited collection of Harris Tweed items, crafted in collaboration with island weavers from the Outer Hebrides. This exclusive range includes jackets, caps, shoulder bags and bespoke kilts made from authentic Harris Tweed cloth — each piece carefully cut and finished to highlight the unique character of the handwoven cloth.

What makes Harris Tweed special?

Harris Tweed is protected by a statutory definition which requires it to be handwoven by islanders in their homes in the Outer Hebrides, finished in the Outer Hebrides, and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the United Kingdom. The result is a robust textile with distinctive texture, rich colour depth and a story of place.

The collection

We have curated the range to include both classic and contemporary designs:

  • Heritage Jacket: A tailored cut with leather elbow patches and brass buttons — ideal for country wear and city layering.
  • Crofter Cap: A classic six-panel cap with cotton lining and subtle tartan trim.
  • Utility Shoulder Bag: Fully lined, leather straps and an internal pocket for modern essentials.
  • Bespoke Harris Tweed Kilt: Available on pre-order. Each kilt is individually cut to match the cloth and pleat pattern.

Meet the weavers

We worked with three small weaver groups from Harris and Lewis. Each group brings generations of knowledge; many families have been weaving on the islands for centuries. Transparency and fair pay were non-negotiable priorities for us — every piece in this collection includes an origin tag noting the weavers involved.

Limited availability

Due to the handwoven nature of the cloth and the small-scale production process, quantities are limited. We recommend placing pre-orders for any bespoke kilts or jackets. The ready-to-wear pieces will be refreshed only occasionally as new cloth arrives from the islands.

Pricing and shipping

Pricing reflects the labour and quality of the cloth. Jackets start at £395, caps at £49, shoulder bags at £120, and bespoke kilts begin at £540. We offer worldwide shipping and provide a full garment care guide with each purchase. For bespoke orders, allow 8–12 weeks for production.

Sustainability and craft preservation

This launch also supports sustainable practices: Harris Tweed is a low-waste, locally produced fabric that utilises regionally-sourced wool. By working directly with island weavers, we hope to sustain craft livelihoods and preserve weaving knowledge for future generations.

"The cloth carries the island — its colours are the sea, the peat, and the heather." — Fiona MacLeod, Lead Weaver

To celebrate the launch we will host a series of virtual Q&A sessions with the weavers and offer a behind-the-scenes look at the finishing process. Visit the product pages for detailed measurements, cloth swatches, and care instructions. Stock is limited — if you’ve been waiting for authentic Harris Tweed, this collection is designed to be treasured.
